Several common bricks were used to support a metal plate over the burner to disperse heat to the outside edges of the Frig box.  Otherwise, the heat from the burner is concentrated up the center of the box, and tends to overcook or even crisp-up the food in the center of the shelves.  You could get a little more sophisticated on than bricks, but this got the job done.
